Gentle/Moderate Yoga with Chris Glover

A very nurturing practice, which encourages mindfulness and promotes flexibility and relaxation. Classes are performed at a slower pace with gentle pose sequences. Modifications are offered so all can enjoy the benefits of yoga.

  • The in-person and online class are held in the South Church chapel live-streamed online via Zoom. In-person attendees will not be shown on camera during class.

  • In-person classes are limited to 15 attendees. The chapel is well ventilated with windows and fans.

  • Class will be broadcasted via Zoom, but in-person attendees will not be shown on camera during class.

  • Please note! You must register in advance whether you attend in-person or online.

Chris Glover was certified at the New Age Center with master teacher Tao Porchon Lynch. She has taught yoga classes and workshops throughout Westchester and Rockland County since 1990. A former professional modern dancer and circus performer, her training includes Iyengar, Ashtanga, and Kripalu techniques. She is an E-RYT 500 and has received Level II Reiki Attunement. She is a certified gymnastic and circus acrobatic instructor. Chris’s lifelong exploration of movement has given her insights into the body as a vehicle, but it was yoga – the connection of all the different aspects of our selves – that completed the connection. "It is a blessing to share the joy, light, and peace of yoga with all beings. The body is the vehicle to understand and direct life on all levels."

The correct entrance for Yoga students faces Broadway, and has double wooden doors with windows in them. When you arrive, come along the middle walkway to find these. The doors are unlocked.

Please be on time for the in-person classes! The studio is fully equipped with yoga props. You may bring your own yoga props. Should you choose to use any studio equipment, you may if you wish bring a towel to drape between you and any fabric props (bolster, blanket).

Sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer are available in the yoga room, hallways, and bathrooms.

We are a volunteer-run, not-for-profit community. Your willingness to step in, volunteer and help the teachers put away props and reset the chapel for classes and events is most appreciated.
