Phil Lynch began practicing yoga diligently in 1998 and completed his first training in classical Ashtanga at Mt. Madonna in California, under the direction of Baba Hari Dass (YTT’98). It was there that he learned the slow flow, mudra, meditation and breath techniques that remain the foundation of his classes. His second training was at the KaliRay TriYoga Center in Santa Cruz, where he began teaching in 2000. He continued his studies in Los Angeles, completing his third training at Sacred Movement (Max Strom, Shiva Rea). He has been teaching for the past 20 years and is still amazed at how teaching is always fresh and new with each student and situation. He plans to continue practicing and sharing all aspects of yoga, tailored to suit the individual and their specific needs.

Phil’s unique yoga teaching style has evolved from his own synthesis of different schools of yoga. Since 1999, he has developed his personal approach while borrowing from different styles within a vinyasa class. Each student receives encouragement and support as Phil gracefully links posture to posture with breath, passion and a touch of humor. Blending yogic philosophies into modern-day metaphors and action into experience, Phil challenges the student to cultivate a strong and flexible body and spirit, steady emotions and a clear mind.
