Why do we choose to do Yoga? The answer is probably as individual as the practitioner. What makes Yoga different from other forms of exercise? Where do mind/body/spirit interface? If you are seeking a greater understanding of anatomy, a deeper appreciation of the experience of the postures and the desire to deepen your connection to the spirit of Yoga, there is something here for you.
Tom DeMott, DC, is a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic. He graduated from the New York Chiropractic College. He is Reiki certified and a practitioner of Reconnective Healing. Tom taught the anatomy syllabus for Brahmani's Yoga Teacher Training at the Rivertown Center for Yoga and Health.
Saturday, March 10, 2:00pm–4pm
Exchange for event: $30
Tom DeMott, DC, has been doing Yoga for over 40 years and has been a chiropractor in the Rivertowns for over 30 years. He draws on his studies and experience to weave together current concepts in mind/body medicine, body work, and principles of energetic medicine to explain how Hatha Yoga is, at its core, a spiritual practice. The presentation will cover aspects of Kundalini energy, physical anatomy, psychology, and a number of body work modalities. It will include techniques to expand the participant’s body awareness and openness, in the end leading to a greater trust in the individual’s experience of the self.
